Farmers & Merchants State Bank has been committed to the growth of Northwest Ohio since day one. We had our first name change in 1919 when we added “State” per our state charter. But our commitment to the people of this great region never wavered one iota.

It looks different today, but if you visit our headquarters in Archbold, Ohio, you’re opening the same doors F&M customers have since the Buckeyes rose to national prominence in the 1970s. We expanded our presence in Fulton County during that decade too, opening a full-service office in Wauseon, Ohio.

By the end of the ’80s, F&M had four full-service offices in Fulton County. In 1981, we expanded into Williams County with new branches in Stryker and West Unity. By 1986, we had five offices in Fulton County and three in Williams County.

The 1990s ushered in the world wide web and an office in Henry County. The early 2000s brought ribbon cuttings at our Defiance County office and Fulton County operations center.

F&M’s footprint now includes 35 full-service office locations, three loan production offices, and over 52 ATMs in Champaign, Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Lucas, Shelby, Wood and Williams,  counties in Ohio, and Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Jay and Steuben counties in Indiana. Today, we serve the financial needs of families, farmers, businesses and industries with a full suite of traditional, online, mobile and telephone banking products.
